Lil Wayne 'Doing Better' After In-Flight Medical Scare
Lil Wayne is "doing better" after an in-flight medical scare on Thursday afternoon that forced the Young Money rapper's plane to make an emergency landing in Texas.
After Weezy had suffered from seizure-like symptoms on a private jet, the craft landed in an undisclosed location in Texas, according to TMZ. From there, he was taken to a local hospital and treated for several hours before being released around 6 p.m. local time.
A rep for the rapper had no comment about the incident. As of press time, further information about his condition was not released and it's unclear what the rapper was being treated for. However, sources close to the MC tell TMZ that he is now "doing better."
Weezy is currently prepping the release of his 10th solo album I Am Not a Human Being II, which is set for release in December. He recently spoke to MTV News about the album when he was in Las Vegas last week.
For it, he shared he worked on tracks with Kanye West, saying, "Yeah he got some music on there. It's crazy, actually I don't want to give too much up but he's got a big hand in the album, you'll see."
He also hit the studio with Dr. Dre, working on nearly 100 tracks with the legendary rapper, producer and mogul, but couldn't specify when or where fans might get the chance to hear what the twosome cooked up. "I've always worked with Dre," Wayne said. "I'm not sure if you guys know how Dre works. Dre always send you a song, so I done probably did like 90 songs for Dre. You just never know which one he gonna put out."

'Cloud Atlas' Leaves Halle Berry Unrecognizable To Her Co-Stars
You know you're involved in a unique and interesting film when you can't even recognize your famous co-stars on set.
Such is the case with "Cloud Atlas," the "cranial plate shift of a film" based on David Mitchell's novel of the same name. It is a visually stunning film that follows the stories of six individuals and the seemingly impossible connection they all share across time and space, one that required its cast to take on multiple parts, personas and genders. And the results of which often rendered the recognizable faces of Halle Berry, Hugh Grant, Susan Sarandon and Jim Sturgess totally unrecognizable.
'Cloud Atlas' Stars Discuss Most Surprising Makeup Moments MTV news recently caught up with the cast to discuss their makeup and which character in the film surprised them most.
"I didn't recognize Ben Whishaw when he was in the hut scene [with us]," Berry admitted. "And he was in the whole scene."
"How about that? So Ben Whishaw, who is in a third of the movie, I didn't know he was in that scene until I saw the movie in Toronto," Tom Hanks agreed. "Who was he? I didn't know he was there that day.
"Hugh [Grant] rode by on a horse a couple of times. I didn't know it was him," Hanks added. "It happened all the time. We were in Berlin doing extensive makeup tests, and during that time, we kept passing each other in the hallway. It was always this amazing moment, 'Who are you today? Who are you turned into?' "
"Seeing Hugo Weaving as Nurse Noakes for the first time was pretty remarkable," Whishaw said.
"Yeah, he really looked nothing like Hugo at all," James D'arcy agreed. "There's a character that Halle plays in the film that I didn't recognize at all. Even when she was on set that day playing that role, I didn't recognize her at all."
Berry's role as an older Korean man with a special futuristic mechanical eye seemed to strike most of her co-stars as the most surprising.
"I think Halle had some of the biggest transformations. She played an older person, she played a man that was Korean. I remember having to have a conversation with her while we were shooting that scene," Jim Sturgess recalled. "It was the most surreal kind of messed-up moment. We were talking about her kid and how she's integrating into German schools, but she was dressed as this bizarre-looking Korean man with rotting teeth. It tripped my head up. I had to go sit in a corner for five minutes and get my head together."

Kim Kardashian tries on ring while Kanye West raps about ‘White Dress’
Kim and Kanye spent Monday touring four homes in the Miami area worth from $7 to $10 million. Of course not only is Miami the location of Kim’s current reality show but both she and Kanye are said to love the city.
Meanwhile snippets of Kanye West’s new song “White Dress” hit the Web yesterday, and many are noting how some of the following lyrics in the song suggest an impending Kim and Kanye wedding.
“At first sight I can picture you in a white dress/30 foot train, diamond from the rain/Just to make up for all the years and the pain/Family on both sides I'm so glad you came”.
No one knows for sure but the couple themselves, but some sites are already poking some fun at the pair’s rumored nuptials. Best Movies Ever has a hilarious send up of what guests at a Kim Kardashian and Kanye West wedding could expect.
They start out saying guests would be greeted with two gift bags, containing his and her sex tapes. The wedding couple would be wearing matching black leather tuxedo and wedding dress. Kanye will have collaborated with Jay-Z on his wedding vows of course. And in lieu of actual groomsmen, Kanye will be attended by cardboard cut-outs of himself so he doesn’t feel “overshadowed”.
There will no doubt be an accompanying 13-hour E! special about the ceremony entitled, “Keeping Up With The Egos.” And finally, wait for it, as Kanye’s placing the ring on Kim’s finger, none other than Taylor Swift rushes the altar claiming “Beyonce is the best bride alive”.
Wow, sounds so real you can smell it!

RAPPER NELLY Cops Raid Tour Bus HEROIN SEIZED
Rapper Nelly was detained last night in Texas while police officers searched his tour bus -- and found HEROIN in addition to a loaded gun ... and MASSIVE amounts of weed ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ .
According to law enforcement sources, Nelly's bus was stopped at a border patrol checkpoint in Sierra Blanca -- and a police canine detected the presence of drugs.
We're told cops pulled the bus over -- and after performing a search, they found 36 small baggies of heroin (totaling .64 ounces) and over TEN POUNDS of marijuana inside a large green duffel bag (an amount roughly the size of a large bed pillow).
Cops also say they found a loaded .45 caliber pistol.
There were seven people riding on Nelly's bus at the time -- including the rapper -- and they were all detained during the search.
According to law enforcement sources, one of the passengers -- a guy named Brian Keith Jones -- admitted the drugs and the gun were his. He was subsequently placed under arrest.

Whitney Houston's daughter Bobbi marrying her 'adopted' brother
Well, that’s interesting. The late Whitney Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina, says she’s engaged to her “adopted brother,” Nick Gordon, in a shocking clip from Lifetime’s upcoming reality show, “The Houstons: On Our Own.” “We’re engaged,” a giggling Bobbi says in a 30-second preview clip from the series, which premieres Oct. 24 and tracks Houston’s extended family in the wake of the singer’s untimely death last February. Rumors have run rampant ever since that Bobbi, 19 — Houston’s daughter with ex-husband Bobby Brown — was romantically linked to Gordon, 23, who was invited by Houston to live with her and Bobbi when he was 12 (because his birth mother could not care for him). Gordon was never legally adopted by Houston. But the family, and Bobbi, had denied the rumors — until now. “No one knew from a godson you would turn into a boyfriend,” Bobbi’s uncle, Gary Houston, says to Gordon in the “On Our Own” clip, posted on Lifetime’s Web site. “Everybody else doesn’t have to be in my business,” says Gordon, who’s flanked by Bobbi at a big table. “The family has made me out to be a bad person.” “I’m in love with him,” says Bobbi. “They wanna see us fail,” she says to the camera. “I got one thing to say — you won’t.”

Taylor Swift Falls For A Bad Boy On 'I Knew You Were Trouble'
Taylor Swift's latest Red teaser track, "I Knew You Were Trouble," breaks the singer out of Nashville and onto the dance floor. The singer teased the track during "Good Morning America" on Monday (October 8), ahead of its full release Tuesday, and it has Swift trying on a brand-new musical hat.
"The song we're releasing tonight ... it's a song that's one of my favorite songs on the album because it sounds just as chaotic as the feeling was when I wrote it. It's a song about kind of being frustrated with yourself because you have your heart broken and you knew when you first saw that person you saw all these red flags and you just went for it anyway," she explained. "So, shame on me."
The teaser certainly is a bit hectic sounding, as it goes from being a standard country-pop tune to something else entirely. " 'Cause I knew you were trouble when you walked in/Shame on me now," she proclaims. "I knew you were trouble when you walked in/ Shame on me/ Took me to places I've never been/Laying on the cold, hard ground," she sings as the song swells and breaks down, touching on a bit of a dance music vibe.
Red hits retailers on October 22. While Swift has traditionally kept her releases in the world of country-pop, this album has showed signs that she will be playing with other genres. Her chart-topping lead single, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," is a straightforward pop track, thanks to production from Max Martin and Shellback.
Swift's next Red single off the album is the slow jam, "Begin Again," the video for which she shot in Paris last week. She's also released the album's title track, "Red."
"Well, in terms of my album, it kind of signifies the intense, really bold emotions you feel when you're in kind of mad love," she told MTV News earlier this month about the tracks on the album. "And I think that all of the songs on the album are written about those kinds of experiences that I've had."
"Each song stands on its own musically, sonically and emotionally too. It's kind of a patchwork quilt of all these different styles that have influenced me in one way or another," she later added.
Weeks after she drops her album, Swift will be in Frankfurt, Germany, on November 11 to perform at the 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards where she is up for five awards.
"I've always wanted to go to the EMA, because you hear about the spectacle of it, and how everyone just goes all out for their performances," Swift said. "To be nominated for five EMAs was the most exciting feeling, and I was absolutely blown away. I can't wait to be there this year and perform on the show!"

Social media among threats to greeting card makers
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Fewer people are sending paper greeting cards, a worrisome challenge for the nation's top card company.
Kansas City, Mo.-based Hallmark Cards Inc. announced last week it's closing a Kansas plant that produced a third of its signature product. Hallmark is shedding about 300 jobs as it shifts work to two other plants.
Hallmark and companies like it are dealing with a cultural shift in which consumers are increasingly choosing cheaper and quicker ways to communicate.
Hallmark says that over the past decade, the number of greeting cards sold in the U.S. has dropped from 6 billion to 5 billion. An industry trade group puts the figure at 7 billion.
Hallmark executive Pete Burney says competition in the industry is "formidable" and that consumers have more ways to connect digitally.

Campaigns Use Social Media to Lure Younger Voters
In 2012, it is not enough for candidates to shake some hands, kiss a baby or two and run some TV ads. They also need to be posting funny little animations on the blogging site Tumblr. If the presidential campaigns of 2008 were dipping a toe into social media like Facebook and Twitter, their 2012 versions are well into the deep end. They are taking to fields of online battle that might seem obscure to the non-Internet-obsessed — sharing song playlists on Spotify, adding frosted pumpkin bread recipes to Pinterest and posting the candidates’ moments at home with the children on Instagram.
At stake, the campaigns say they believe, are votes from citizens, particularly younger ones, who may not watch television or read the paper but spend plenty of time on the social Web. The campaigns want to inject themselves into the conversation on services like Tumblr, where political dialogue often takes the form of remixed photos and quirky videos.
To remind Tumblr users about the first presidential debate on Wednesday, Mr. Obama’s team used an obscure clip of Lindsay Lohan saying “It’s October 3” in the comedy “Mean Girls.” And on Twitter, Mitt Romney’s bodyguard posted a picture of the candidate’s family playing Jenga before the debate.
The techniques may be relatively new, but they are based on some old-fashioned political principles, according to Zachary Moffatt, the digital director for the Romney campaign.
“The more people you talk to, the more likely you are to win,” said Mr. Moffatt, who oversees about 120 staff members and volunteers. “The more people who interact with Mitt, the more likely he is to win. Social extends and amplifies that.”
But as is the way of the Web, a well-intended post or picture on social networks can quickly morph into a disaster. And the slightest gaffe on the campaign trail can become a “Groundhog Day” moment, repeated endlessly.
“Even a typo is a big deal,” Mr. Moffatt said.
In July, when Mr. Obama told a crowd of supporters “You didn’t build that” while talking about the importance of public infrastructure, the Romney campaign pounced, uploading photos of hot-dog-joint owners and others displaying signs with variations on the slogan “I built this.”
And Clint Eastwood’s mock interview with the president at the Republican convention sent the Web into a frenzy. Within minutes, images of Mr. Eastwood on stage, plastered with cutting captions, hit Tumblr, and Twitter was flooded with parodies. Mr. Obama’s team joined in, sharing on Twitter a photo of him in a chair marked “The President,” with the caption, “This seat’s taken.”

Lottery Winner Found Dead Saturday Morning
A woman who admitted to receiving food stamps after winning $1 million on a Michigan state lotto game show was found dead today.
The circumstances surrounding Amanda Clayton's death were not immediately released by police, but ABC News' Detroit affiliate WXYZ-TV reported that sources within the police department said they suspect the woman died of an overdose.
An autopsy is pending on Clayton's body, which was found at a home in Ecorse, Mich., police said.
Clayton, who became a millionaire after her big win last September, caused outrage earlier this year when it was revealed she was continuing to get $200 in monthly food aid from the state.
According to the attorney general's office, Clayton failed to report her winnings and employment while receiving $5,475 in food and medical assistance.
